GENERAL ELECTRICIAN – REEFTON

ATL Electrical is looking for an experienced, all-round Electrician to join our team based in Reefton on the West Coast. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and autonomy — working across residential, commercial, industrial, rural and farming environments, including mines and remote sites.

$5,000 sign-on bonus available (paid after 12 months of employment).

What kind of work will you do?

This is a varied, hands-on role covering:

Residential and commercial electrical work
Industrial and rural installations and maintenance
Farming and agricultural electrical work
Mine and remote site work
Fault finding, servicing and repairs
General electrical upgrades and projects

You’ll be part of an on-call rotation and will need to be confident working independently.

Experience with heat pumps and solar systems is an advantage — but not essential.

What you need to be successful in this application:
You must be NZ registered with a current practising licence and have a minimum of 3+ years’ experience in New Zealand or Australia. You’ll bring strong all-round electrical experience, problem-solving ability, a high standard of workmanship, and the ability to work independently across a range of environments. A full Class 1 NZ driver licence is required, along with clear communication skills. Applicants must currently reside in New Zealand.

AUTOMATION TECHNICIAN

We are looking for an experienced, motivated Automation Technician to join our team. This hands-on role blends technical expertise with client engagement to deliver smart, effective solutions.

What you need to be successful in this application:

Install, program, and commission systems (Control4, KNX, C-Bus, networking)
Manage end-to-end automation, AV, and security projects
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and contractors
Proven experience with Control4, C-Bus, or KNX automation (essential)
Knowledge of security, CCTV, access control, and IP networking (advantageous)
Background in audio-visual installations
EST or full electrical qualification (beneficial)
Clean full New Zealand Class 1 driver licence
